Deputy Chief
Deputy Fire Chief Travers Collins began his fire service career in 1990 as a volunteer firefighter with the Monte Rio Fire District. After graduating high school Chief Collins began working for the California Department of Forestry (now Cal Fire) as a seasonal firefighter in both Sonoma and Mendocino counties. After graduating paramedic school in 1996 Travers began full-time employment with the Petaluma Fire Department. Chief Collins transferred to the Santa Rosa Fire Department in 2002 and has held the rank of Firefighter/Paramedic, Captain, Training Captain, Battalion Chief, and Deputy Chief. Deputy Chief Collins holds a Bachelors Degree in Emergency Management, as well as State Chief Officer certification.
