• The Foundation will not fund any personnel cost for city employees, The Foundation may in the future support personnel cost that directly support the activities of the Foundation.

  • The Fire Foundation will not supplant any funding that the City’s operation and maintenance budget currently provides. The goal of the Foundation is to enhance current programs and provide funding to establish new programs that the city budget unfortunately cannot support.

  • The foundation will consider requests that support the mission, Goals and Strategies of the Foundation this includes increasing wildfire resiliency, health and wellness, and improving community engagement and diversity for the Santa Rosa Fire Department, its members to benefit community.

  • The Foundation’s goal is to work with existing groups already supporting the department, including but not limited to our partnership with The 6 Foundation to provide for enhanced physical and behavioral health. The Fire Foundation is currently seeking opportunities to partner with other non-profit organizations will also partner with the foundation to raise awareness and funds.

  • The foundation is governed by a board of directors of well-respected citizens in our community. The Fire Department also is represented during board meetings by two management members, which include the Fire Chief and one battalion chief, there is also representation on the board from the firefighters labor representation L-1401. The fire managers and labor representatives on the board are not voting members of the board, their position is an advisory role to provide subject matter expertise for the board to make well informed decisions.

  • That is a common misconception. Only a portion of your taxes are earmarked for our first responders. A donation to the Santa Rosa Fire Foundation aids in closing funding gaps to help strengthen and expand the services of the Santa Rosa Fire Department. Your donations save lives that taxes cannot.

  • The Santa Rosa Fire Foundation is an independent nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization. The Foundation is not directly affiliated with the City of Santa Rosa Fire Department however works closely with the Fire Department to support and enhance current programs. The Fire Department is a department of the City, funded by the City’s general fund and Measure O. The Fire department provides all-risk fire protection and emergency service to the all residents and visitors of the city of Sant Rosa and the surrounding area.
